Welcome

I have seen death.

Helplessly I stood by,

Light escaped my patient's eyes,

I have heard death,

Helplessly I stood by,

The dark angel claimed his prize,

I have smelled death,

Helplessly I stood by,

With tongue tasting the pungent haze,

I now watch death,

Cowardly I stand by,

with Child-killers standing in the glaze,

Blameless, they wait for death,

Cowardly we stand by,

Till the end of days.

Now, I've seen enough death,

And know enough to wonder why,

The point of life should be to loose it..

It is a sad day, when a child killer is given a hero's welcome.
It is a sad day when a chin goatee wearing idiot smiles after being recently shafted by those who claim the "nazaha".
It is a sad day when those who sought alliance are now welcoming their longest kept enemy.
It is a sad day when a militia had closed down an entire country in celebration for a thug that commited a crime way before it ever existed.
It is a sad day for Lebanon !

a sad day indeed...but i wonder how many people actually recognise it as such. Not many I suppose.

No need to be so gloomy. Yeah Kuntar does have bad connotations as a child killer, but look at the bright side, we closed a major obstacle with Israel.

Shame shame shame... not just for the celebrations over the return of THIS particular individual... but for the celebrations over the dead bodies of hundreds of civilians, over the Lebanese economy, and perhaps over the corpse of any hopes of a modern Lebanon for the release of 1 man, and what a person...

Now what remains is for the 2009 elections to be over, to reverse all the gains of the aborted March 14 revolution and the counter-revolution will have succeeded to the fullest... Shame

You poor guys. So upset; Happy to accept the word of Israel as the gospel truth; So sure of his guilt were they that the transcripts of the court case had to be leaked.

Sad that your leaders are extending a hand of solidarity to those you so obviously hate in an attempt to create a spirit of national unity that can heal schisms and wounds.

Sad that Lebanon is the ONLY country to have forced Israel to give back all its people, living and dead.

Sad indeed.

Can Mo please tell who are the other people and of what country are they that Israel is holding. and while talking about home comming when are the Lebanese that are held in Syria comming back. And as for people who came back how many of these few Lebanese that came back from Syria have obtained university degree in jail, not talking about their mental shape.

ah, mentally challenged MO has arrived! You are a true lebanese comedian...short on brains and short on funny material?

How else do you explain this assinine comment, "Sad that your leaders are extending a hand of solidarity to those you so obviously hate in an attempt to create a spirit of national unity that can heal schisms and wounds."

Ah...actually NO MO! I am VERY SAD that a moron like you can assume that seeing our esteemed slack jawed PM and our SLIMY el presidente al dente take part in an orchestrated fiasco and thereby conlcude that they are "heal(ing) schisms and wounds" that your fcuking pride of lebanon divine resistance opened in the FIRST PLACE!!!
Also SAD that you are so bloody blind stupid and brainwashed by hizbteezee that you actually call the same dogs that represent you as "YOUR LEADERS"!
Also SAD that you are so bloody blind stupid that you can not see that yesterdays disgusting display of hatred for human life confirmed that lebanon is a failed state!
Also very very sad that your parents wasted the minute it took to conceive someone so bloody minded like you.

Please do us a favour, go find the hole that your maggot infested persian slave leader is hiding in and give him some lovin...!

hugs and kisses MO MO!

Shunkleash,

Mo appears to hope that those "leaders" of ours are genuinely sincere in their desire for peace in Lebanon.

At first look, this appears to be an opportunity to do so; if they wish, Hezb could really use this tangible victory to get some concessions and settle in the Lebanese game. However, while I feel you can make your point without resorting to expletives, I agree with your premise. I feel that they're far too power-drunk to do so, and will drag us down in another war sooner rather than later.

On one hand, I am not sure that their current "para bellum" with new missiles and stuff is really proof of their "vis pacem".

On the other, the stuff brewing up North is particularly nasty, and will have a way of spreading.

anon, Syria, Jordan and Egypt all have live or dead in Israel that Israel has not given back, despite the latter two signing peace treaties. As for the Lebanese in Syria, I am as eager to see them back as you.

shunk, diddums, did I hit a little nerve there? Lets see if I can part you petty little insults to find some sort of argument on your part shall I?

Slack jawed PM? Gosh I though he was your hero before? Now that he wants to talk to 40% of your countrymen (although I appreciate that quite obviously you only consider those who agree with your grandoise and highly intelligent argument can be considered true Lebanese) he is weak and slack jawed?

So what are you suggesting exactly? That he is only any good if he takes Hizballah on in a fight to the death and drags the country into another war?
Thats your choices, dialogue and compromise or all out war. I would suggest that choice A would be better for the country than choice B especially since those forces you support really would have it handed to them in that scenario.

Erm, I didn't say anything about those that represent me, but hey, if you are asking, Hassan Nasrallah is the most popular leader in the Middle East. I am very proud to have a hero like him be my leader. How many Arabs do you think would want Samir Geagea as their leader? Who do you think will be held in higher regard in the pages of history?

yesterdays disgusting display of hatred for human life? Please expand. No idea what you are talking about.

Of course using language and logic to debate with someone as intelligent and high-minded as you is futile seeing as I am so "bloody blind stupid", but hey the fact that I exist seems to upset you so much, its got to be worth the minute my parents took.

Jeha,
Lets say you are right. What exactly is the alternative? Again, if they ain't talking they are fighting. So if they are saying all this to stay in power, so what? If it keeps guns in pockets great. If there is a fight, we all know there is no winner, even if Hizballah were to win militarily. We have a country that is currently composed of two polarised groups of roughly equal membership. Without a consenual government representing both sides we will always be on the brink of the next fight. Therefore what is happening now should be watched with optimism, maybe a cautious optisim, but optimism nonetheless.
I don't think the troubles in Tripoli will spread because I think it is very much less political than personal there.

Anyway, thanks to Shunk and to possibly save his/her blood pressure, I will not trouble you with further postings but thanks for publishing my posts anyway.

Jeha said...

Mo,

First, you are not trouble at all. You are welcome to post as much as you like, and please accept my apologies for any slights or insults. I ban no one except for one particular individual who insists on "web-stalking" me.

Second, I agree with you in a sense; as long as they are talking, they are not fighting. But they soon will be.

I think there can be little dialogue between the secular-minded (or those who claim to be) and the God-lead. A party that counts Abou-Adam in his membership will not answer to Bani-Adam; their perception of the desires of the Higher Authority will lead them to push further. The fact that they make up 30% to 40% of the populace is irrelevant; Hitler too had 30% to 40% of the vote, but that did not make him right.

For this reason, I fear we're going to war whatever we do, unless we surrender completely to those Übermenschen . And I think this is what Shunkleash was "hinting" at. Even if my fears are not well founded, preparing for such an eventuality may make the God-crazy think twice. Just maybe.

mo said...

Jeha, right or wrong is irrelevant in this matter. Each side thinks they are right, each side thinks they are doing whats best for the nation.

If by war being inevitable you mean civil war then I disagree, if only because I think the leaders on both sides are now smart enough to know they cannot impose "their" wishes on the other side no matter how many missiles Hizballah have and no matter how much support from the West March 14th have.

The statements and reactions to Nasrallahs speech from the PSP and Siniora are encouraging and if it leads to a period of calm between now and the next elections, great. That period can be used positively to further the rapproachment and push us further from war.

I believe I am right by saying that you personally have said that while you side with March 14th you recognise their flaws. And while I side with the opposition, I do not want anything like an Iranian style theocracy in Lebanon.

Idisagree that there cannot be dialogue between the religious and the secular. Who has asked for the surrender of the secular (and lets be honest these are not accurate descriptions of the two sides- I cannot for a second think that Geagea is more secular than Aoun for instance)?. Surely if a surrender is what the opposition was going for, then would their actions in May not have been more drastic?

You know the saying "we have nothing to fear but fear itself"? I think thats all our problem right now. We are so fearful and mistrusting (apart from the few on the fringes who just hate) that we are allowing our fears to overcome our logic. We allow ourselves to trust "outsiders" who have their own genda before our own brothers.

You are fearful of the opposition and its aspirations for Lebanon and I am fearful of March 14th and its.

Therefore, a continued national unity government, a continuation of consenual government where all are well represented and no major legislation can pass without full agreement can at least put us on a path that can increase that trust.

Ah Mo,

There you go MO! But eloquence will get you nowhere especially when you say nothing! Right is right and wrong is wrong and it is ALWAYS relevant! It is when the two are escewed as you are atempting to do, you get the nonsense that permeates in the middle east masking itself as intellectualism. Imagine that you think you can get someone to beleive that each party thinks they are doing what is best for the nation. REALLY MO! Which nation would that be MO? The so called opposition have outrightly stated that they declare their loyalty to SYRIA and to IRAN so WHICH NATION are they doing their best for MO?

The so called opposition cripple the economy and destroy the lives of thousands and thousands of people OF ALL SECTS...was that done for the benefit of the nation? WHICH NATION MO?

tisk tisk...how insipid can you be!

Since when does hearing jumblatt and weepy boy shower accolades on a child killer and terrorist org that 60 days ago tried to disassemble the entire country give anyone a feeling of "calm" or of "rapproachment". Its actually more like a feeling of "stockholm syndrome".

By the way i have always advocated dialogue but amongst honest brokers who are treated as equals in a civil society NOT between terrorists using violence against unarmed innocent civilians. If there is to be war it will not be between lebanese...hizzie have learned their lesson well...but i assure you it will be caused by the hizzie but this time there will be no divinity.

As for all the rest of your dribble in response to my previous commnet let me just say...I am Lebanese, I love lebanon and I am loyal to it ALONE, I love and respect my fellow countrymen when they love and respect me, I do not support causes that are undefinable and indefensable, I beleive the "arab" mentality and "arabness" has destroyed three generations of perfectly good and useful human beings by making them brainwashed to half truths and outright lies, I am against child killers and the mentally challenged who keep asking "why you beleive the joos" especailly when the child killer admitted doing it then and is admitting to doing it NOW, I am secularist, but most of all I ridicule people who are disloyal and corrupt, and I ridicule people who attempt to justify that disloyalty and corruption, i ridciule politicians who think I work for them instead of them working for ME, and finally I don't care what goes on in palestine, iran, dubai, syria, qatar, israel, Jordan or egypt or SA or USA or UK or anywhere else other than in lebanon.

With that said if you think you can debate me with logic, and not come accross as a goat being led by a mule, you will not succeed by using this--->"I am very proud to have a hero like him be my leader." or this --->"How many Arabs do you think would want Samir Geagea as their leader?" or this--->"Who do you think will be held in higher regard in the pages of history?" or this gem--->"We allow ourselves to trust "outsiders" who have their own genda before our own brothers." Who are these mean and evil "outsiders" by the way? and pray tell who are the "brothers" you speak of?

You see, unlike you I am not fearful of M14 because I know them to be deceitful, incompetent and corrupt but they are generally tame and cowardly...but I am fearful of M7 since i know them to be deceitful, incompetent and corrupt but they are also traitors who are armed and funded by foreign "outsiders" who they call "brothers".

Ah MO, my blood pressure is fine...you however have to live with yourself...be happy!

So to sum up Shunk, you are right and some 3 million people who support one side or another are wrong.

Right is right and wrong is wrong, you don't say?! Try thinking a little deeper or is it what Shunkleash thinks is right and anyone who disagrees is wrong and worth your petty insults?

masking itself as intellectualism? No getting anything past your vast intellect is there?

Yes you are absolutely right. The many hundreds who have sacrificed their lives so that Israel doesn't colonise Lebanese land or steal Lebanese water did that for Syria and Iran - The very same Syria that tried to destroy Hizballah.

child killer and terrorist org ? LOL please leave the propaganda at the door. We are not Fox news viewers.

You have always advocated dialogue but amongst honest brokers? You want to tell us who it is you consider to be an honest broker then?

You are against the "arab" mentality and "arabness"? Well, you may like your destiny decided for you by and Englishman and a French man with a map of the ME and a ruler, thats your choice, Personally, I prefer we decide our own destiny.

"the child killer admitted doing it then and is admitting to doing it NOW" - Please let me know where. The court transcripts show he denied it then and he denied it in his only interview so far. So please let me know where he admitted doing it.

You don't care what goes on in palestine, iran, dubai, syria, qatar, israel, Jordan or egypt or SA or USA or UK or anywhere else other than in lebanon? Yes because we are such a large superpower we can afford to ignore what happens in these countries and live in isolation. Great thinking!

As for your last paragraph, I will refer you to my earlier response about leaving the propoganda at the door. But you are right, it is futile to argue with you using logic. Your assessment is that all the groups are corrupt and incompetent, you can't talk to the opposition (which begs the question, why are you responding to me?), what happens in the rest of the ME doesn't affect us and you are right and the rest of us are know-nothing mules who just blindly follow - have I left anything out for you?

shunkleash said...

LOL!

you take ridilin don't you?...its A.D.D. or A.D.H.D. aint it? Pay attention this time mkay and stop putting words in my mouth its so unsanitary!

"Right is right and wrong is wrong, you don't say?!" Actually, I DO SAY! or would you prefer I took your advice and dug deep into the garden of arabness and produce something like "right is grey and wrong is zionist"? would that make you feel better? Im sure it does but too bad ive already missed the "arab" hypocracy train no 1 to enlightenment and glory. I so wish I could bask in the sunshine of the arab mind like so many of the more fortunate ones in the middle east. Why, all you have to do is look around and see all of the progress being made because of the "sacrifices" and stuff...LOL!

It keeps getting better..."Yes because we are such a large superpower we can afford to ignore what happens in these countries and live in isolation" Actually NO! It is precisely because we are small and comprised of people of many different "sects" and many levels of education that we should keep our traps shut until we can act with some maturity...otherwise we keep getting used to fight other peoples wars. Or is it that you like getting used or seeing your countrymen used as fodder in someone else's game?

"You are against the "arab" mentality and "arabness"? Well, you may like your destiny decided for you by and Englishman and a French man with a map of the ME and a ruler, thats your choice," Gee, thank you for allowing me to choose, but um funny enough I just can't seem to pick out where I actually wrote that.

Personally, I prefer we decide our own destiny. Riiiight! Now seriously who you kiddin...before responding to me you should read what you write?

Propaganda? right, you got me there MO! I like Bill O'Reilly and Rupert Murdoch is my daddy and Samir Kantar is P diddy in disguise.

In any event, since Syria is not the master of Hizzie I look forward to the brave Resistaines going into Syria to recover the many hundreds of lebanese prisoners to bring them home...oh wait, that can't happen yet! hizballah would actually have to acknowledge their existance first. Lets wait for that to happen, together in unity!

NEXT! "Your assessment is that all the groups are corrupt and incompetent, you can't talk to the opposition"...Actually my assessment is that all the groups are corrupt and incompetent and the opposition should act like an opposition instead of thugs who hold the entire country to ransom.

Don't beg its unbecomming of the divinely inspired...but if you must know I have chosen to respond to you because I felt like it...

yalla...bye

I guess the above exchange shows that we are all going after the same goals. We just disagree on the means.

I guess time will tell which "side" is the best mean. My guess is none; as soon as we are close to the promised land, if we ever make it there, we should ditch those false prophets.
